Jim Brooks is the former CEO of Beverage America, one of the country’s largest private soft drink bottlers, and serves as Founding Chair of the West Michigan Strategic Alliance, a comprehensive long-range strategic planning initiative that spans eight West Michigan counties. He is a partner in IPA and managing partner of Brooks Capital Management.
Jim is the former CEO of Beverage America, one of the country’s largest private soft drink bottlers with $600M in revenues, five manufacturing plants, 60 distribution centers, and 3,000 employees. As a result of his leadership experience, he brings a passion for strategic planning and a commitment to disciplined operational execution to IPA.
Jim is actively involved in many community organizations. As the Founding Chairman of the West Michigan Strategic Alliance, he helps to coordinate comprehensive regional strategic planning and action initiatives for seven counties involving government, business, and institutional organizations. He is also a trustee of the Culver Educational Foundation, the Co-Vice Chair of the Grand Valley University Foundation, a member of the Van Andel Institute “Hope on the Hill” Foundation Board of Governors, the Co- Chair of Hope College Patrons of the Arts, and a trustee and investment committee member for The Community Foundation of the Holland/Zeeland Area.
In addition, he has held numerous corporate directorships, has participated in and led local and national professional organizations, and has received many honors for his contributions both in his career and his community service.
Jim and his wife have two children and five grandchildren.
